NEW LONDON -- Not since 1994 had the Ore City Rebels recorded a playoff victory. That all changed in a big way Friday night at Bradshaw Stadium as the Rebels forced eight turnovers in a 46-0 victory over Shelbyville in a Class 2A Division I Region III bi-district matchup.

LONGVIEW -- Trailing for nearly the entire first half, John Tyler got back on track and avoided an upset against Texas High in their Class 5A Division I bi-district playoff game Friday night at Lobo Stadium.

WACO -- It was over by the end of the first quarter. Hewitt Midway led 41-7 with the aid of a Tyler Lee interception, a punt, a fumble on a kick return and a bad snap recovered by the defense. The Red Raiders ultimately lost Friday's Class 6A Division II bi-district playoff game, 76-47, at Baylor's McLane Stadium.

TYLER -- Longview coach John King wasn't going to leave anything to chance, especially after he witnessed his team fall into a 28-point hole in the first half. He wanted no part of overtime.

ROCKWALL -- Van fell to Paris in the opening round of the Class 4A Division I playoffs Thursday, 30-23, at Wilkerson-Sanders Stadium. MOUNT PLEASANT -- Despite playing without its top two rushers, the eighth-ranked Gladewater Bears made quick work of their first-round playoff opponent Thursday night.

CARTHAGE -- Facing an opponent known largely for its defense, the San Augustine Wolves knew they would be in for a dogfight at Bulldog Stadium Friday night. They got just that.

LUFKIN -- Kilgore bounced back from a rough start to the 2014 season and made the playoffs, but unfortunately for the Bulldogs and their fans, it was a short stay.

PITTSBURG -- With the area round of the playoffs within reach for White Oak, Redwater was there to ruin the party Thursday night.
