NEW CHAPEL HILL -- Tatum built a 13-point lead at halftime and escaped Chapel Hill with a 20-7 win Friday.

Adrian Minor made it interesting for the Bulldogs (1-2) on a 2-yard touchdown run in the third quarter, but Cedric White broke away for a 71-yard score in the final minutes to elevate Tatum to 2-1 overall.

The Eagles have won two out of their last three games after dropping 11 straight games, dating back to the bi-district round of the Class 4A Division II playoffs in 2014.

Keshoyn Alexander put Tatum on the board thanks to a 47-yard punt return score and LeMarcus Harmon's 2-yard run gave the Eagles their 13-0 advantage through 28 minutes.

Tatum will host Wills Point next Friday. Chapel Hill travels to Gladewater.
