WHITEHOUSE -- Whitehouse notched a pair of victories Monday night as it was the Wildcats' turn to host the four-team 7-on-7 football league that plays weekly.

The Wildcats opened the evening with a 49-35 victory against John Tyler before beating  Lindale 27-20. Texas Tech-committed senior quarterback Patrick Mahomes threw 10 touchdowns on the evening.

John Tyler bounced back from its 14-point loss to Whitehouse with a 34-33 win against Tyler Lee. Each team's quarterback -- JT junior Geovari McCollister and Lee senior Trevor Carr -- threw five touchdowns.

Lee started the evening with a 34-20 win against Lindale.

Whitehouse and Lee have each qualified for the Division I state 7-on-7 tournament July 12-13 in Leander. Whitehouse qualified June 1 in Lufkin, while the Red Raiders qualified along with Longview at Saturday's state qualifier tournament at Lindsey Park in Tyler.

Lufkin is the only other East Texas team that has qualified for the D-I state tournament. John Tyler will play in a Friday state qualifier tournament in Rowlett in hopes of punching its ticket to state next month.
