The first Division I scholarship offer has arrived for Carthage 2018 receiver Dewaylon Ingram.

The Bulldogs playmaker announced via Twitter that Abilene Christian made him an offer on Friday evening.

Ingram (6-0, 160) was Carthage's leading receiver in 2016, helping the Bulldogs to their fifth state championship since 2008. He finished with 61 catches for 977 yards and nine touchdowns.

In the Class 4A Division I state title game, a 31-17 Carthage win over Abilene Wylie, Ingram caught four passes for 67 yards and a touchdown.

Abilene Christian competes in the Southland Conference at the FCS level. The Wildcats will be under new leadership in 2017 with the arrival of head coach Adam Dorrel, who won three Division II national championships with Northwest Missouri State from 2011-16.

Last season, ACU was 2-9 overall and 2-7 in league play.

Ingram, like all college football prospects currently in their junior year of high school, will become eligible to sign with any school that offers him in February.
