Amanda Cabrera Leads Pine Tree to 3-1 Victory at Kilgore

KILGORE -- Senior Amanda Cabrera scored twice to spearhead Pine Tree's 3-1 soccer victory over Kilgore on Thursday at R.E. St. John Memorial Stadium.

Pine Tree's Erin Bailey scored the match's first goal in the first two minutes. Cabrera notched her first goal 10 minutes later on a 20-yard shot assisted by Ana Solis.

Kilgore's Sarah Mendenhall cut Pine Tree's lead to 2-1 in the second half, but Cabrera answered with a goal off a quick corner kick assisted by Amanda Wallin.

Pine Tree, which improved 17-1-1 overall and 9-0 in District 32-4A play, garnered a 6-1 advantage in shots on goal.

Pine Tree hosts Carthage at 5:15 p.m. Friday.
