It's been an active offseason of recruiting activity for Carthage running back Keaontay Ingram, and it continued Wednesday.

Ingram (6-0, 198), a four-star recruit, picked up his 27th Division FBS scholarship offer -- this one from Oregon State, he reported on Twitter.

The Carthage back's offer total is second only to Arp's DeMarvion Overshown (29) among East Texans in the 2018 recruiting class.

Ingram, who is rated as the No. 1 running back in the state of Texas by Scout.com, has offers from some of the biggest programs in the country. Included on that list are Florida State, LSU, Michigan, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Texas, Texas A&M, and USC.

Last season, Ingram scored twice in the Class 4A Division I title game — after getting the team there with a touchdown in triple overtime of the state semifinal game — and eclipsed 2,200 yards on the season in the finale. He scored 31 rushing touchdowns and caught 46 passes for more than 400 yards through his 15-game junior campaign.

Oregon State, a member of the Pac-12 Conference, is coached by Gary Anderson and is coming off a 4-8 finish in 2016. The Beavers have recent history in East Texas, having signed former New Boston running back Damien Haskins in 2013.

Ingram, like all college football prospects currently in their junior year of high school, will become eligible to sign with any school that offers him in February.
