The only East Texas prospect in the 2020 recruiting class picked up his second Division I FBS scholarship offer on Thursday.

Carthage ATH Kelvontay Dixon reported via Twitter that Colorado has offered.

Dixon (5-9, 150), the younger brother of four-star 2018 running back Keaontay Ingram, was previously offered by TCU.

Colorado currently has four offers out to East Texas recruits. In addition to Dixon, the Buffaloes have offered three 2018 prospects -- Van offensive lineman Kris Dike, Ingram, and Arp safety DeMarvion Overshown.

Dixon did not see any playing time at the varsity level last season, which ended with Carthage’s fifth state championship since 2008. He played primarily running back and cornerback at the sub-varsity level last fall.

TCU is recruiting Dixon as an “athlete” for now, he previously told ETSN.fm. He also said he expects to play wide receiver, cornerback, and some at running back on varsity as a sophomore in 2017.

Colorado seemed to turn a corner last season after a decade of four-win teams or worse. The 2016 Buffaloes, under fourth-year coach Rick MacIntyre, recorded a 10-2 regular season and advanced to the Pac-12 championship game.

The Buffaloes dropped the league title match and then lost to Oklahoma State in the Alamo Bowl for a final record of 10-4. Still, it was the first 10-win season in Boulder, Colo., since 2001.

Dixon, like all college football prospects currently in their freshman year of high school, will become eligible to sign with any school that offers him in December of 2019.
