JACKSONVILLE -- The Corsicana Tigers rallied from a 14-point, fourth-quarter deficit to stun Jacksonville, 41-38, in overtime Friday night at the Tomato Bowl in the District 17-5A opener for both teams.

Corsicana quarterback Blake Hoffman scored on a 1-yard keeper on the second possession of OT to seal the win. That came after Ceasar Guerrero's 40-yard field goal gave Jacksonville a 38-35 lead.

Jacksonville took a 35-21 lead on Vadall Johnson's 4-yard touchdown run early in the fourth quarter, but Corsicana scored twice on long touchdown passes to extend the game beyond regulation.

Hoffman hit D.J. Sheffield from 50 yards out before connecting with Trevor Denbow on a 53-yard score with 3:44 remaining in the fourth, tying the game at 35-35.

Corsicana was led by Hoffman, who completed 9 of 10 passes for 246 yards and three touchdowns. He added 34 yards rushing.

Kishawn Kelley added 108 yards and a touchdown on 14 rushing attempts. Denbow caught six passes for 139 yards and two scores.

Cameron High led Jacksonville (3-3, 0-1) in defeat by completing 12 of 20 passes for 110 yards and two touchdowns, while adding 119 yards and a score on 25 carries.

Jacksonville returns to the field next Friday night at Whitehouse.
