BROWNSBORO -- Bullard's start could not have gone much worse, but there were no complaints about how the Lady Panthers' wrapped up Friday at the Great East Texas Shootout.

Tyler Lee held Bullard scoreless in the first quarter and yet trailed at halftime toward a 29-25 loss.

The Lady Panthers rallied from a 6-0 deficit for a 15-14 advantage at the break. From there, Bullard outscored Lee 14-11.

Allie Kirgan and Sydney Foster tied for the team lead in scoring with nine points each.

Bullard will face Brownsboro today at 10:45 a.m. inside Brownsboro's high school gym. The winner will advance to the tournament's championship game, a 5:45 p.m. tip, and the loser will play a 3 p.m. consolation game.

MALAKOFF -- Slocum opened its day with a win against Anderson-Shiro, but it closed Friday's action at Malakoff Crossroad's tournament with a loss to Hearne.

Alex Maldonado led the way in a 48-33 decision over Anderson-Shiro (0-4). He scored 12 points, and Edwin Martinez scored 10 points to round out Mustangs in double digits.

Hearne (2-1) handed Slocum (7-4) a 58-40 defeat later in the day.

Jacob Lane scored a team-best 10 points for the losing side. The rest of the Mustangs scorers were held to six or less points.
