FRIDAY VOLLEYBALL: Beckville Stays Unbeaten Against Ore City
The Beckville Ladycats did what they normally do: win.
They swept Ore City on Friday, winning their sets by scores of 25-19, 25-7 and 25-12. The win improved them to 27-0 and 4-0 in district play.
Riley Seegers led the team in kills with 14, while Hannah Humphries and Payton Jones each had nine. Seegers added six blocks and Kinley Pepper had four aces.
The Ladycats will next have a home game Tuesday against Waskom.
Quitman takes down Eustace
Quitman earned a sweep against Eustace on Friday.
The Lady Bulldogs ons their sets 25-19, 25-18 and 25-19. Kaci Raley had 17 digs to go with 10 kills, while Molly Tanner had 11 kills and three aces.
The win improved them to 23-7 and 5-0 in district.
The next game is Mineola at 5 p.m. Tuesday.
Rains loses to Brownsboro
Rains couldn't do enough to come out with a win, falling to Brownsboro in five sets Saturday.
The Lady Cats fell 25-23, 16-25, 19-25, 25-14, 11-15.
Summer Nerkowski led the team with 13 kills, and McKenna Hildebrandt had 12 blocks.
The Lady Cats return to action next Tuesday night when they host the Lady Panthers from Mabank.
Carlisle defeats Overton
Carlisle lost the first set, but won the final three to gain a victory against Overton on Friday.
The Lady Indians fell 25-20, but came back with wins of 25-23, 26-24 and 25-13.
Heather Craig led Carlisle with 21 kills, while Aubrey Hart had 13. Hart and Callie Gray also each had four blocks.
The Lady Indians take on San Augustine on Tuesday.
