Tuesday Volleyball: Carthage Sweeps Gilmer + More

GILMER -- The Carthage Lady Dawgs earned a 25-9, 25-18, 25-23 sweep of Gilmer on Tuesday night.

Matti Doffitt led Carthage (19-10) with 16 kills and seven digs. Dede Pope added 15 kills, Kallie Cuff had six kills, Kim Worsham provided 21 assists and 10 digs, Carson Robertson finished with 14 assists and seven digs, while Courtney Edge chipped in with 22 digs.

Carthage returns to action next Tuesday at home against Diboll.

Beckville Stays Unbeaten With Sweep of Jefferson

JEFFERSON -- The Beckville Ladycats remained unbeaten on the season with a dominating 25-0, 25-3, 25-11 sweep of Jefferson in District 16-3A action Tuesday night.

Hannah Humphries paced Beckville (25-0, 2-0) with 13 kills and one dig. Riley Seegers added 10 kills, one block, one assist, and five digs, Payton Jones had five kills, five aces, an assist, and six digs, Courtlyn Nail finished with three aces and six digs, while Kinley Pepper racked up 25 assists to go with a kill, 15 aces, and nine digs.

Beckville returns to action next Tuesday at home against New Diana.

Gary Knocks Off Carlisle

PRICE -- Gary rolled to a 25-22, 25-17, 25-15 sweep of Carlisle in District 20-2A action Tuesday night.

Leann Youngblood led Gary with 24 kills, two aces, and 14 digs. Madie Davis added eight kills, one block, and seven digs, while Taylor Rodgers finished with 29 assists, one kill, one ace, and seven digs.

Carlisle (16-12, 1-1 was led in defeat by Heather Craig, who had 14 kills and eight digs. Aubrey Hart added nine kills and six blocks, while Jailin Lee recorded 24 assists and five digs.

Both teams return to action Friday. Gary plays host to Leverett's Chapel, while Carlisle travels to Timpson.
