HENDERSON -- Carthage moved to 5-0 in District 19-4A competition with a 25-14, 26-24, 23-25, 25-19 win against Henderson.

Kenzie Templeton led offensive production. She recorded 39 assists.

Alli Capps scored 29 total points in the match, 24 kills and five blocks.

Kaitlyn Nutt led in the defensive department with 29 digs, but Templeton also had a nice match with 12 points saved.

Carthage will visit Rusk on Tuesday.

 

Beckville Remains Perfect In District

BECKVILLE -- The Ladycats held Overton to single digits in each set of a three-set sweep.

Beckville won the match, 25-8, 25-4, 25-5, and improved its District 20-2A record to 7-0.

Cherry Downs' club won 82.2 percent of the points it served and scored 16 aces. Kinley Blair recorded a team-best five aces and was followed closely by four aces from Kimber Wesner. Natalie Morris and Carson Blair aced three serves.

Carson Blair and Kinley Blair led the way in points Overton did return. Both players recorded 12 kills.

Beckville will be off in the midweek and next hosts Timpson.

 

Alba-Golden Sweeps Edgewood

ALBA -- The Lady Panthers also jumped to 7-0 in their District 13-3A thanks to a 25-13, 25-16, 25-13 win against Edgewood.

Gracie Pendergrass recorded a team-best 11 kills for Alba-Golden in the sweep. Caitlin Lennon and Briana Weissert each helped score 16 points on assists.

Ginny Carson aced four serves in the win.

 

Carlisle Squelches Shelbyville

CARLISLE -- The Lady Indians cruised to a 25-9, 25-6, 25-8 win against Shelbyville.

Carlisle is now 7-1 in District 20-2A, one game behind Beckville.

Not much offense was required. Keylee Adair led the team in scoring with eight aces.

Ceci Deleon recorded 13 assists and aced five serves of her own. Madison Martin also scored on five serves.

Carlisle will host Leverett's Chapel on Tuesday.

 

Hughes Springs Falls To Queen City

QUEEN CITY -- Hughes Springs was swept by Queen City, 25-18, 25-15, 25-17.

Despite the loss, the Lady Mustangs did have a handful of players with solid performances.

Peyton Blythe broke double digits with 10 assists. Kennedi Northam saved 12 points on defense with digs.

Kensley Echols led the team with seven kills.

Hughes Springs will host Mount Vernon on Tuesday.
