ORE CITY -- Garrett Barton had another big night on the ground to lead New Diana to a 41-15 win at Ore City in Friday night's District 9-2A Division II contest.

Barton ran 13 times for 147 yards and two touchdowns to spearhead a New Diana running game that finished with 240 yards on 29 attempts. Barton also had four tackles and forced a fumble on defense.

The win snapped a two-game losing streak for New Diana (4-2, 1-2), which played district leaders Hughes Springs and Waskom during the first two weeks of league play.

Quarterback Jobie Ainsworth also had a strong performance, completing 6 of 11 passes for 170 yards and two touchdowns and running four times for 25 yards and one touchdown. K.J. Jeffery, who ran for 39 yards on seven carries, caught two passes for 104 yards and a touchdown, while DeQuailyn Hollins added three receptions for 53 yards and a score.

Like Barton, Hollins and Jeffery also had big nights on defense. Hollins recorded 14 tackles, including one for loss, and Jeffery intercepted a pass. Brandon Wesley led New Diana (4-2, 1-2) with 16 tackles, while Cody Holland had 13 tackles and one sack.

New Diana visits Paul Pewitt next week. Ore City (0-6, 0-3) travels to DeKalb.
