One of the top scorers in East Texas earned her second Division I scholarship offer on Saturday.

Gilmer senior guard Destiny Brooks (5-4) announced via Twitter that Appalachian State has offered her a full scholarship.

Brooks, a 3-point specialist, is visiting the Boone, N.C., campus this weekend.

She was previously offered by Dartmouth.

The Lady Buckeyes' sharp-shooter guided Gilmer to the Class 4A Region II tournament for the third consecutive year this season.

Gilmer fell to Carrollton Ranchview in the regional semifinals but not before the Lady Buckeyes finished the year with a 32-4 record.

Appalachian State competes in the Sun Belt Conference and is coached by Angel Elderkin. The Mountaineers were 12-19 overall and and 6-12 in league play this season.
