FRANKSTON -- Standout tailback Jeffery Wilson had another big game and Elkhart beat Frankston 35-30 on Friday night to move to 2-0 on the season.

After rushing for 150 yards in the season-opening 36-35 win against Alto, Wilson carried 24 times for 249 yards and three touchdowns and added a pair of two-point conversions. Wilson's rushing touchdown with 57 seconds remaining gave the Elks the go-ahead, game-winning score.

Elkhart senior linebacker Gaje Smock had a huge game with 16 tackles and one forced fumble, while junior linebacker Cameron Wilson had eight tackles and a game-sealing interception

The 2-0 start is Elkhart's first since 2004, according to the Palestine Herald-Press.

Through two games of his senior season, the 6-foot, 190-pound Wilson has 399 yards and four touchdowns on the ground. Thanks to four two-point conversions, he's scored 32 points in two contests.

Smock recorded 16 tackles for the second consecutive week.
