KILGORE -- Kilgore's defense forced five turnovers, one an interception returned for a touchdown, in a 41-0 win over Spring Hill on Friday night.

The Bulldogs (4-0) are 1-0 in District 16-3A and play at Bullard next Friday. Bullard (4-0) was the odd team out in the district Friday, with an open date.

Kilgore quarterback Cooper Coldiron went 6 of 11 for 117 yards, including a 41-yard touchdown pass to Nick Orange. The Bulldogs finished with 189 rushing yards, although the ground game was spread around. Kilgore's Davieonta "JuJu" Brown scored two touchdowns, both in the first half (from 8 and 9 yards out, respectively), and Kilgore led 20-0 at halftime.

Austin Jordan helped Kilgore with a 14-yard score in the third quarter, and although Hector Peralez missed a 29-yard field goal, the Bulldogs got fourth-quarter scores from cornerback Benny Colbert (on a 42-yard interception return) and Kevrin Justice (on a 22-yard run).

Spring Hill managed 196 rushing yards, but only 44 passing yards. Ben Hollas had 59 rushing yards for the Panthers.
