LUFKIN -- Kason Davis' 24-yard touchdown pass to Dewaylon Ingram with 14 seconds remaining sent Carthage to a heart-stopping 34-30 win over Silsbee in their Class 4A Division I, Region III bi-district playoff Friday night at Abe Martin Stadium.

Carthage (8-2) will meet Houston North Forest (8-3) next week in the area round of the playoffs.

The Bulldogs' defense stopped Silsbee (6-5) on downs with a little more than two minutes to play, and without any timeouts, Carthage drove 87 yards for the game-winning score.

Keaontay Ingram led Carthage on the ground with 151 yards and three touchdowns on 19 carries. Dewaylon Ingram led the Bulldogs' pass-catchers with five receptions for 70 yards.

Carthage went into halftime with a 22-8 lead, but Silsbee scored the game's next 22 points to take a 30-22 lead early in the fourth quarter.
