LONGVIEW – Returning home, Longview used a total-team effort to put on a show for the home crowd in a 62-14 thumping of Dallas South Oak Cliff on Friday night at Lobo Stadium.

Gaylon Wiley threw for two touchdowns, five Lobos ball carriers hit paydirt, Chris Kessler converted two field goal attempts, and the Longview defense forced three turnovers in the blowout win over the Bears.

Wiley passed for 207 yards with scoring tosses to Astin Henry for 56 yards and to tight end Jaylin Brown for 43 yards. Henry, in total, hauled in three passes for 95 yards.

On the ground, Longview (2-1) eclipsed the 300-yard mark with a bevy of backs contributing. Kendrevian White scored a touchdown, rushing for 45 yards on a limited night. Jessie Anderson had scoring romps of 9 and 5 yards. Trajan Bush added a 5-yard score, A’Darius Carter scored from 9 yards away, and Jaqun Edwards had a 10-yard score. Paul Hutchins led the way overall with 60 yards.

Kessler hit field goals of 40 and 32 yards.

Defensively, Kobe Davis and Traveion Webster pulled down interceptions for the Lobos, who pitched two shutout quarters against the Bears, who fell to 0-3.

South Oak Cliff scored on the game’s opening possession before the Lobos' three-straight touchdowns, followed by Kessler’s first kick before rounding out the first half with two more touchdowns for a 38-7 lead.

It continued in the second half with Anderson, Carter, and Edwards pushing that margin to 59-7.

South Oak Cliff quarterback Traylon Hicks got the Bears back on the board with his second touchdown run of the night midway through the fourth quarter.

Kessler finished off the Lobos' romp with a 32-yard field goal with 2:08 to go for the 62-14 final.

Longview hosts Mesquite Horn on Friday.
