GILMER -- Seventh-ranked Gilmer shook off a seven-point lead at halftime and erupted for 28 unanswered points in the second half to beat Spring Hill, 42-7, in District 7-4A Division II action on Friday night.

The Buckeyes (7-1, 3-0) took an early 14-0 lead, but Spring Hill (3-5, 0-3) responded with a 2-yard touchdown run by quarterback Gage White to make the score 14-7.

Spring Hill seemed in prime position to tie the game after Jake Mulkey intercepted a Brown pass in the second quarter and returned the ball to the Gilmer 1-yard line. But the Buckeyes forced a White fumble and took a 14-7 lead into the locker room at halftime.

Junior quarterback Aaron "Poppy" Brown threw for 304 yards and a touchdown and ran for another in Gilmer's win. All six of Gilmer's touchdowns were taken to pay dirt by different players.

Rashaad Ward, Kameryn Cuevas, Trendon Brooks and Kelton Collier all scored on the ground for Gilmer.
