No. 8 San Augustine Battles Past Joaquin for Second-Round Win, 80-71

TENAHA -- Joaquin's Wyatt Hairgrove exploded for 45 points, but a trio of double-digit San Augustine scorers led the No. 8 Wolves to an 80-71 win in Friday's Class A Division I Region III area playoff at Tenaha's Special Events Center.

San Augustine (20-6) offset Hairgrove's huge night with 21 points from Bobby Tanner, 18 from Jarvis Smith, and 10 from JaCourtney Thomas.

San Augustine plays New Summerfield at 8 p.m. Tuesday at Central Heights High School in a Region III quarterfinal. The winner advances to a noon Friday regional semifinal at the Region III tournament at Tyler Junior College's Wagstaff Gymnasium.
