BULLARD -- Grant Hanks passed for two touchdowns in Bullard Brook Hill's district-opening 24-22 win over Tyler Bishop Gorman on Friday night at Herrington Stadium.

WHITEHOUSE -- Three minutes into the second half, Class 3A's No. 1 team was rolling. A three-score lead had Carthage on the brink of an impressive road win against Class 4A's No. 3 squad.

LONGVIEW -- Mesquite ended Longview's streak of nine consecutive district titles last season, but the Lobos got their revenge in a big way Friday night.

WHITEHOUSE -- Whitehouse had trouble finishing against John Tyler in the 2012 regular-season finale, losing a 24-point lead and the ultimately the District 16-4A championship.

TEXARKANA —Brayden Varnell hit two long bombs, and Jefferson spoiled Pleasant Grove’s homecoming with an 18-13 victory Friday at Hawk Stadium.

LONGVIEW -- Those who thought Kilgore might pose too big of a threat for Spring Hill to overcome were proven correct Friday night in the District 16-3A opener for both teams.

ROYSE CITY—Texas High's defense has been strong all season, but its contribution was never more apparent than in Friday's 27-7 victory over Class 3A Kennedale at Royse City ISD Stadium.

MESQUITE -- Tyler Lee forced Mesquite Horn to settle for field goals early Friday night at Hanby Stadium. Once Horn got its offense on track, Lee had no answer.
