NACOGDOCHES -- Rusk moved to 9-3 on the young season with a split Thursday to open its time at Central Heights' Holiday Hoop Fest in Nacogdoches.

The Eagles topped Bridge City, 65-60, before falling to Central Heights, 53-32.

Trevor Lee helped Rusk get it done in overtime against Bridge City, breaking a 54-54 draw after 32 minutes. He scored six of the Eagles' nine overtime points for a team second-best 12 points.

Isiah Franics scored 14 points to lead the team. Antonio Tilley chipped in 10 points to round of the team's players in double digits.

Central Heights got the best of Rusk through the middle quarters of the Eagles' second game. An Eagles 12-8 deficit grew to 32-18 at halftime and then 42-22 entering the final quarter.

Tilley put a team-best 10 points for Rusk in that game.

Rusk and Central Heights will resume tournament play today.

Girls Basketball

San Augustine Edges Beckville

GARY -- Beckville shot a solid 33 percent from the field, but San Augustine was two points better for a 29-27 win in the Gary Tournament.

Payton Jones, Madi Mize and Jordan Tondreau scored six points apiece for Beckville (6-2) in the loss.

Destiny Barnes scored a game-best 10 points for San Augustine.

Both teams will resume tournament play today.
