Tuesday Basketball Roundup: Second-Ranked Martin’s Mill Cruises Past No. 9 LaPoynor + More

LA RUE -- The second-ranked Martin's Mill Mustangs earned a decisive 76-50 win over rival LaPoynor in non-district basketball action Tuesday night.

Davis Moore led the way for Martin's Mill (2-0) with 23 points, which included four 3-pointers. Logan Jenkins added 22 points and two 3-pointers, while Hunter Conway added 15 in the big win.

Colton Clair paced LaPoynor (3-2) in the losing effort with 18 points.

Harmony Too Much For Como-Pickton

HARMONY -- The Harmony Eagles continued their solid start to the season with a 59-41 rout of Como-Pickton on Tuesday.

Dalton Brenner led Harmony (3-1) with 15 points. Waymon Lay added 10 points and nine rebounds, while Spencer Seahorn finished with 10 points. Konrad Eichelman chipped in with four points, seven boards and seven assists, while Caleb Hart had five points and four steals.

Ozzy Preciado scored 17 points to lead Como-Pickton (3-2).

Cayuga Knocks Off Douglass

CAYUGA -- The Cayuga Wildcats earned a 54-44 win over No. 19 Douglass on Tuesday night.

Brandon Stotts led Cayuga (2-1) with 13 points, while John Venable finished with 12. Jacob Grasch added nine points, while Colten Hearrell and James Kappus each finished with seven points.

Douglass dropped to 4-3 on the season.

GIRLS

Whitehouse Downs Bullard

BULLARD -- The Whitehouse LadyCats earned a 47-40 win over No. 19 Bullard in non-district girls basketball action Tuesday night.

Bullard (9-2) was led in defeat by Lexi Kirgan, who finished with 19 points.

Carlisle Takes Down Beckville

PRICE -- The Carlisle Lady Indians scored a 53-35 win over Beckville on Tuesday night.

Summer Dennis led Beckville in defeat with 12 points, six rebounds and two assists. Ashley Cook added 10 points, three boards and three assists, while Chelcie Pierce finished with nine points, five rebounds and a pair of assists.

Beckville returns to action next Tuesday at home against Elysian Fields.
