TYLER -- The Tyler All Saints Lady Trojans rallied from down two sets to defeat Frisco Legacy Christian, 10-25, 25-27, 25-20, 25-19, 15-13, in their TAPPS District 2-4A opener on Tuesday.

Ferrell Clyde led the way for All Saints (7-4, 1-0) with 14 kills and 15 digs. Elizabeth Enloe added 10 kills, while Hanna Waits finished with nine. Frances Hackney registered 38 assists, Maddie Varga and Emma Lewis combined for 27 digs, while Lexi Hackney recorded a team-best five aces.

All Saints returns to action Friday and Saturday in the Tyler Tournament.

 

Top-Ranked Beckville Sweeps Troup

BECKVILLE -- The No. 1-ranked Beckville Ladycats cruised to a 25-15, 25-12, 25-8 sweep of Troup on Tuesday.

Carson Blair paced Beckville (13-3) with 12 digs, eight digs, and two aces. Natalie Morris added eight kills and 10 digs, Kinley Blair finished with seven kills, Carley Lawhorn had four kills and two blocks, while Kassidy Alexander dished out 38 assists to go with two kills and 11 digs.

Beckville competes in the Showdown of Texas Tournament this weekend in Bronte.

 

Hughes Springs Down Pittsburg

HUGHES SPRINGS -- The Hughes Springs Lady Mustangs earned a 21-25, 25-17, 25-11, 25-19 victory over Pittsburg on Tuesday.

Cypress Wright led Hughes Springs with six kills and 13 points from the service line. Laken Smith added six kills, Peyton Blythe finished with 14 assists, and Kennedi Northam racked up 23 digs.

Hughes Springs hosts its own tournament Thursday and Saturday.

 

Quitman Sweeps Como-Pickton

QUITMAN -- The Quitman Lady Bulldogs earned a 25-17, 25-11, 25-10 sweep of Como-Pickton on Tuesday.

Dawn Houck led Quitman with 11 kills and six digs. Molly Tanner added 10 kills, 10 digs, and five aces, Kaci Raley had nine kills, 12 digs, and two aces, Cammie Hicks provided 32 assists and three aces, while Madaline Spears chipped in with 15 digs and eight aces.

Quitman continues its season Thursday and Saturday in the Tyler Tournament.

 

Cross Roads Outlasts Winona

WINONA -- The Cross Roads Ladycats earned a hard-fought 14-25, 22-25, 25-11, 25-22, 15-8 victory over Winona on Tuesday.

Winona was led in defeat by Nichole Garrett, who finished with 19 kills. Randaysha Hanson added 20 assists and 17 digs, Jazmone Hanson had three blocks and four aces, while the duo of Janeth Tarango and Mallori Shacklett combined for 52 digs.

Winona plays at Union Grove on Friday.

 

Commerce Edges Emory Rains In Five

COMMERCE -- The Emory Rains Ladycats dropped a five-game match to Commerce on Tuesday, 23-25, 25-22, 25-16, 21-25, 15-6.

Rains was sparked in the loss by Ashley Gowin's 17 kills. Charlotte Bradshaw added 10 kills, Corley Cole delivered 12 blocks and 21 assists, Shelbi Sheppard had 20 assists, while Courtney Luckett and Kenna Kellam combined for 37 digs.

The Ladycats compete in the Forney ISD Tournament on Thursday and Saturday, and host Kemp on Friday.
