ENNIS -- Tycen Thompson scored three touchdowns and Kyre Holloway ran for 163 yards in a 43-21 win by Ennis against Whitehouse on Friday night.

Ennis (4-2, 3-0 in District 16-5A) stayed unbeaten in district with the win, while Whitehouse (2-4, 0-3) is still without a league victory.

Thompson scored Ennis' first two touchdowns to help the Lions take a quick 21-0 lead after the first quarter. Ennis would score another 21 unanswered points over the second and third quarters to put the game out of reach.

Treyvon Smith (13 carries for 78 yards) added two touchdowns on the ground, while Holloway added another score. Ennis posted 414 of its 535 total yards on the ground.

Thompson, who finished with 84 yards on seven carries on the ground, also posted three catches for 56 yards and a score, a 52-yard touchdown from Tre Elliott to open teh second half.

Quarterback Tanner Roach led Whitehouse, completing 19 of 34 passes for 212 yards, two touchdowns and one interception. Both touchdowns came after Ennis took a 43-7 lead in the second half.

Zach Taylor led Whitehouse receivers with six catches for 62 yards and a touchdown, while Isaac Little (two catches for 40 yards) caught the other score. The Wildcats' other touchdown came from Braylon Shackelford on a 2-yard run to make the score 21-7 in the second quarter.

Whitehouse finished with just 25 yards on the ground on 23 attempts.
