Tyler's Lindsey Park will serve as the site for a 7-on-7 state qualifying tournament Saturday, which features 16 teams from all over the state.

The event, which begins at 9 a.m., features four pools of four teams. Each of the four pools has one team that has already qualified for the state tournament set for July 9-11 in College Station.

College Station, Lufkin, Lindale, and Crockett have already qualified, and thus will not advance beyond the pool play stage. Saturday's two championship game participants will secure spots for the state tourney.

Nine of the 16 teams signed up for the Tyler SQT are from East Texas, while the other seven represent the Greater Houston area, the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, and even West Texas.

El Paso Eastwood is traveling more than 700 miles for the event, and will face Longview at 9 a.m. in pool play.
