Tyler Lee Edges Longview + Whitehouse Takes Down Lufkin for State 7-on-7 Spots
TYLER -- Whitehouse and Tyler Lee will visit College Station next month for the Division I state 7-on-7 tournament after perfect days at the state qualifying tournament at Tyler's Lindsey Park.
It wasn't easy though. Especially for the Red Raiders.
Tyler Lee edged Longview for a tournament berth by one point, a 34-33 win, while the Wildcats topped Lufkin, 50-41, in a high scoring affair for the competition's other invite.
Crockett, a team which will participate on the state level in the Division II tournament, played in the tournament's most eventful game. It topped Pine Tree 70-68 in four overtimes before losses against Tyler Lee and Lancaster.
Longview finished its day 2-2 and Lufkin went 3-1.
John Tyler posted a 2-1 record with a three-point loss against Lufkin.
Pine Tree went 0-3 on the day.
