Air Force the First School to Offer Chapel Hill’s Joseph Clark

The first offer has arrived for one of Chapel Hill's class of 2014 veterans.

Joseph Clark received an offer from Air Force, Chapel Hill coach Thomas Sitton told ETSN.fm's Clint Buckley on Thursday.

The 5-foot-9, 175-pounder played safety and running back for the Bulldogs in 2012, when Chapel Hill finished 3-7. Clark was one of Chapel Hill's leading tacklers and led the Bulldogs in rushing, carrying 94 times for 712 yards and six touchdowns.

Clark started at safety as a sophomore when Chapel Hill won the Class 3A Division I state championship. He was also the Bulldogs' fourth-leading rusher that season, finishing with 51 carries for 406 yards and five touchdowns.

Clark joins classmates Wesley Thompson (outside linebacker), D.D. Mumphrey (defensive back), and Keith Minor (defensive lineman) as key cogs on Chapel Hill's defense entering the 2013 season. Thompson, a 6-foot-2, 185-pounder, won the linebackers MVP at Sunday's ETSN.fm Football Recruiting Combine.
