Arp Scores 26 Unanswered Points En Route to 32-6 Defeat of Lone Oak
VAN -- Arp scored 26 unanswered points, including 18 in the fourth quarter, to take care of business against Lone Oak, 32-6, on Friday night in a Class 3A Division II area playoff game.
Arp (7-5) will take on unbeaten and fifth-ranked Waskom in the third round at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Pine Tree's Pirate Stadium in Longview. Waskom beat Gunter, 28-7, on Friday.
Tray Baker scored two touchdowns about five minutes apart and Tommy Reese returned an interception 55 yards for a touchdown to make up Arp's 18-point final period.
Reese also caught a 26-yard touchdown from Tyler Stewart, which broke a 6-6 tie in the second quarter.
Arp took a 6-0 lead on a 23-yard touchdown run by Kayce Madlock with 1:45 left in the first quarter, but Lone Oak tied it on a 6-yard run by Jake Williams.
