WINONA -- Destiny Brooks knocked down six 3-pointers and scored 22 points to lead Gilmer to a convincing 58-33 win over Brownsboro, Friday in their Class 4A Region II area-round playoff.

Gilmer (31-3), ranked No. 12 in the latest TABC rankings, will face unbeaten and fifth-ranked Tatum (32-0) in the regional quarterfinals next Tuesday back in Winona with a berth in the regional tournament at stake.

Brownsboro finished its season at 24-10.

Brooks hit four of her 3's in the first quarter, helping the Lady Buckeyes to a comfortable 18-6 lead after one.

Belynda Ray added 17 points in the win for Gilmer.

Brownsboro was led in defeat by Tamaria Manning, who finished with 16 points.
