The Bulldogs are in for a tough run for the crown of District 11-3A Division II alongside Garrison, Newton and Deweyville.

That being said, Corrigan-Camden looks poised for a big year with 11 players back from a team that reached the Class 2A Division II regional championship game last season.

Just like last season, fans can count on head coach Seven Armstrong's squad to cruise offensively against lesser opponents and find play consistently against the toughest of competition.

Keegan Mitchell is back, fresh off winning District 12-2A Division II offensive MVP honors last season, after running for 33 touchdowns and 2,387 yards as a junior. Mitchell's effort will be supplemented by Malyk Johnson who rushed for more than 1,500 yards of his own.

The two players helped the Bulldogs average more than 400 rushing yards per game last season in addition to about 47 points.

Corrigan-Camden's defense played remarkably well last season and returns five starters. It was the only team prior to Refugio in the state semifinals that held Waskom in check through the Wildcats' five-game playoff run.

Quarterback LaKendrick Moore will double as a defensive back and lead the way for the returning starters on that side of the ball with his six interceptions against offenses last season.

This is a powerful team with room to run barring it does not run into Franklin in the bi-district round of the 3A Division II playoffs.
