Girls Soccer Roundup: Pine Tree Rolls + Nacogdoches Edges Jacksonville
LONGVIEW -- Pine Tree career goals and assists leader Amanda Wallin recorded a hat trick to lead PT to a 7-0 rout of Marshall on Friday at Pine Tree Stadium.
Pine Tree's Erin Bailey scored the match's first goal, while Charley Tyeskie, Amanda Cabrera, and Ana Solis each adding a goal.
Wallin had two assists. Devin Assenheimer, Bailey, Cabrera, and Tyeskie had one apiece.
Emily Shelton, Becca Schwartz, Lilly Cabrera, and Lorena Gonzalez led PT's defensive effort. Pine Tree (15-1-1, 7-0) garnered a 15-2 advantage in shots on goal.
Pine Tree visits Henderson on Tuesday.
Nacogdoches Slips By Jacksonville, 2-1
JACKSONVILLE -- Nacogdoches rebounded from a shootout loss to Lufkin Hudson earlier in the week to win at Jacksonville 2-1 on Friday.
Jenna McCarty, Aubrey Fuller, and Cindy Hernandez were involved in the Lady Dragons' scoring.
"This was a tough game, but every girl played with a great amount of heart and desire, allowing us to get the win," said Nacogdoches coach Gari Dial.
- Amy Balderas, Dawn Colbey, Kelley Bridges, and Amy Martin led the Nacogdoches JV to a 1-0 win.
Alexis Smith's Hat Trick Powers Hallsville Past Henderson
HALLSVILLE -- Alexis Smith scored three goals to lead Hallsville to a 5-0 win against Henderson on Thursday.
Hallsville (12-7-1, 5-2) got a three-save shutout in goal from Maddison Simmons.
Cassie Perry started the scoring with a goal set up by Smith and McKenzie Dudley. Smith scored the next two goals thanks to assists from Mallory Fortner and Lacee Blakeley, which led to Blakeley's goal off a Perry assist for a 4-0 lead.
Nathalia Lomax assisted Smith's final goal for the five-goal margin.
