LONGVIEW – Gaylon Wiley threw for three touchdowns, Kendrevian White added a pair on the ground, and Longview thrashed Mesquite to the tune of 62-7 on Friday night at Lobo Stadium.

Wiley finished with 205 passing yards, targeting tight end Jaylin Brown twice and receiver Kamden Perry once for scores in the romp.

White had two touchdowns and was one of five backs that turned in touchdown runs for the Lobos, who finished the regular season at 8-2 overall and 6-1 in District 11-6A action. Mesquite’s season concludes at 3-7 overall, including a 1-6 mark in district action.

Longview will open the postseason at Beaumont West Brook, 7:30 p.m. next Friday.

In addition to White, Jessie Anderson, A’Darius Carter, Jaquan Edwards and Jason Roundtree scored on the ground in a 329-yard rushing night for the host Lobos.

Longview struck first and Mesquite answered for a 7-7 tie after the first quarter. Longview churned out 28 points in the second quarter for a daunting 35-7 lead at halftime.

Brown had scoring receptions of 25 and 7 yards. Perry’s went for 42 yards.

White had scampers of 5 and 20 yards, the second giving the Lobos a 14-7 lead.

Anderson scored on a 57-yard run, Roundtree from 13, Carter from 1 and Edwards from 10 in the second half.
