No. 14 Liberty-Eylau Rolls to 54-29 Second-Round Win Over Gilmer
NEW BOSTON -- Imani Wright and Liberty-Eylau flexed its muscles in Thursday's Class 3A Region II area girls basketball playoff against Gilmer.
The 14th-ranked Lady Leopards, who received a first-round bye, cruised to a 54-29 victory behind Baylor signee Imani Wright's 24 points and 11 rebounds.
Liberty-Eylau (25-4) advances to play Crandall at 6 p.m. Monday at Spring Hill High School in Longview as part of a doubleheader with the boys team. Liberty-Eylau's boys also play Crandall at Spring Hill on Monday with the tip set for 8 o'clock.
Liberty-Eylau's Sharde Collins, who has signed with Division I Arkansas-Little Rock, added 13 points, while forward Lauren Godfrey had a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds.
The winner of Monday's Liberty-Eylau vs. Crandall matchup plays in next Friday's 8 p.m. 3A Region II semifinal at Texas A&M-Commerce.
