Notre Dame Offers Whitehouse Junior Justin Dunning

The eighth offer arrived Sunday afternoon for Justin Dunning.

The big and athletic junior said via Twitter than Notre Dame offered him, making the Irish the second school to offer Dunning in the last three days. Florida State offered him Friday.

Dunning's offer list is now as follows: Baylor, Florida State, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Texas, Texas A&M, and Texas Tech.

Dunning is out for the remainder of the season after suffering a torn ACL in his left knee in the fourth quarter of a 42-34 Sept. 5 win against Chapel Hill in Tyler.

Dunning and Troup 2015 athlete/quarterback Blake Lynch have been hot commodities on the recruiting trail in recent days. Lynch has received four offers -- Clemson, Nebraska, Oklahoma State, and TCU -- in barely more than a week, giving him six total. Lynch already held offers from Baylor and Mississippi State.

Dunning and Lynch are 2 of 11 East Texans in the 2015 class with at least one FBS offer. Seven of those prospects hold at least two BCS conference offers.

Mount Pleasant 2014 receiver K.D. Cannon, who is committed to Baylor, is the only other player in East Texas with a Notre Dame offer.
