Shaq Johnson, Tatum Dominate Diboll, 38-6, in Final Non-District Game
DIBOLL -- Shaq Johnson rushed for three touchdowns and caught another to help Tatum explode in the middle quarters to take down Diboll, 38-6, on Friday night.
Johnson, who finished the game with 16 carries for 131 yards, scored on runs of 1, 1 and 31 yards to help Tatum (4-1) from its first loss of the season last week to Center.
Diboll dropped to 1-5 on the season.
Johnson also took a Darian Brooks pass 42 yards for a touchdown, which gave the Eagles a 12-0 lead at halftime.
Tatum rattled off 20 points in the third quarter, highlighted by two Johnson touchdown runs and a 17-yard touchdown run by C.J. Whitaker.
Andrew Stoker added a 4-yard touchdown run for Tatum in the fourth.
Diboll's only score came on a 1-yard touchdown run by Raive Sheppard with 3:51 left in the game. The Lumberjacks did not record a second-half first down until 7:41 was left in the game.
Diboll opens district play at home next Friday night against unbeaten Center, while Tatum starts district at White Oak.
