Emory Rains entered the 2016 season with big expectations. It didn't disappoint. The Ladycats went undefeated in District 13-4A play and clinched the league title with ease. They advanced on to the Region II tournament semifinal round before calling it a year.

BECKVILLE -- Carthage swept Beckville in an exhibition match of teams that went undefeated in district play Friday by a score of 25-15, 25-12, 25-8, ahead of the state volleyball playoffs commencing next week. Carson Robertson recorded 32 assists and added five kills in the quick match. Alli Capps led Carthage in scoring with 13 kills.

EMORY -- Hunter Moore scored six touchdowns Friday and helped Canton slip past Emory Rains, 40-29, at Wildcat Stadium.
