Thursday Softball Roundup: Carthage Tops Tatum + Elkhart Blows Out Buffalo

CARTHAGE -- Samantha Clakley recorded her 16th win of the season Thursday in a 6-1 victory against Tatum in District 19-4A softball.

Clakley allowed just two hits and two walks en route to a complete game.

Krystin Martin led Carthage at the plate with a 2-for-2 night and three runs scored.

Clakley, Morgan Davis and Kaitlyn Earle recorded one hit apiece. Earle also drew two walks.

Carthage (18-4, 4-0) hosts Henderson on Tuesday.

ELKHART -- The Lady Elks only needed three innings in a 16-0 win against Buffalo in District 21-3A.

Preslye Cox threw six strikeouts in the game.

Robin Grant and Camryn Rucker each recorded two RBIs in the victory. Cox, Allie Hays, Shayna McCoy and Tiffany Rosas also batted home runners.

Elkhart (18-1, 8-0) hosts Onalaksa on Tuesday.
