Week 4 1A Poll: Joaquin, Alto Keep Top Spots + West Sabine Makes First Appearance

Joaquin and Alto got wins this past Friday to keep their stranglehold on the top two spots, but there was shuffling after that in the ETSN.fm Week 4 1A Top 10.

No. 1 Joaquin improved to 4-0 with a 52-0 blowout of Burkeville, and No. 2 Alto pushed to 3-1 with a 15-7 win against Frankston. But Harleton and Carlisle each moved up a spot thanks to San Augustine's 26-23 loss to Garrison.

Harleton (3-1) jumped to No. 3 and Carlisle (3-0) bumped up to No. 4 following their victories, while San Augustine (1-2) dipped below .500 and slipped from third to fifth. Pineland West Sabine (4-0) got an impressive 44-29 win against Tenaha to jump into the poll for the first time at No. 6. The loss dropped Tenaha from No. 6 to No. 10 and on the brink of falling out. Tenaha's strength of schedule so far kept the Tigers in the poll despite a 1-3 record.

The seventh, eighth, and ninth spots remained unchanged. No. 7 Big Sandy (3-1) beat Union Grove 24-15, and No. 8 Mount Enterprise (3-1) downed Cushing 34-20. Ninth-ranked Cayuga (3-1) topped Overton 49-6.
