Arkansas Offers Longview QB Haynes King
Arkansas has been all over East Texas.
The Razorbacks have three East Texas commits for 2019 (Beaux Limmer, T.Q. Jackson and Carl Williams) and have offered several others. 2020 Longview quarterback Haynes King joined the long list of East Texas players with an Arkansas offer Thursday, he announced via Twitter.
The Lobos' signal-caller was previously offered by Houston, Louisiana Tech, Louisiana-Monroe and Southern Miss.
Last season, King's first at quarterback, he passed for 2,106 yards with 25 touchdowns and eight interceptions. He did not take over the Lobos' starting job until Week 5 of the regular season.
As a starter, King helped Longview reel off 10 consecutive victories en route to a 13-2 record and the program's first appearance in the state semifinals since 2010.
Chad Morris, an East Texas native and former SMU coach, is entering his first season at the helm in Arkansas. He brought with him an assistant coach that also has ties to East Texas in Jeff Traylor, who won three state championships as head coach at Gilmer from 2000-14.
Arkansas was 4-8 overall and 1-7 in SEC play in 2017.
Polk, like all incoming juniors, is first eligible to sign with any program that offers him in December of 2019.
