LINDEN -- Fredrick Hopkins and Chris Royal each ran for three touchdowns as part of a balanced rushing attack that carried No. 10 Hughes Springs to a 47-0 win over Linden-Kildare on Friday night.

Hopkins carried seven times for 122 yards and Royal had 67 yards on seven attempts. Michael Martinez added 94 yards on 11 carries and quarterback Chad McKinney picked up 58 yards on the ground as the Mustangs (7-0, 4-0 in District 9-2A Division II) rolled up 380 rushing yards as a team.

Meanwhile, the Hughes Springs defense limited Linden-Kildare (2-5, 1-3) to just 124 yards and came down with two interceptions.

Hughes Springs' resumes action at home against Elysian Fields, while Linden-Kildare is at New Diana next Friday.
