Bullard junior tight end Major Tennison has been committed to Texas since last October, but that hasn't stopped other programs from continuing to pursue the Panthers' prospect.

Tennison (6-6, 248) received offers Nos. 10 and 11 from Florida and Colorado, respectively, on Tuesday evening.

He only trails Hooks WR/DB Montrell Estell, who has 12 offers, among East Texas' 2017 recruiting class.

Four of Tennison's scholarship opportunities have come from SEC members. In addition to Florida, he holds offers from defending national champion Alabama, Arkansas, and Georgia.

Tennison is also the first area prospect in the current recruiting cycle to pick up an offer from the Gators.

Florida finished 10-3 overall and 7-1 in conference play in 2015, earning an appearance the SEC championship game as East Division champions. After losing to Alabama, the Gators went on to lose to Michigan in the Buffalo Wild Wings Citrus Bowl on Jan. 1.

Jim McElwain will be entering his second year at Florida this fall after becoming the first head coach in program history to win more than nine wins in their debut campaign. He was also just the third first-year coach to lead an SEC program to the conference title game, and the first from the SEC East.

Tennison was the second East Texan to receive an offer Colorado on Tuesday, which extended an invitation to Arp RB/ATH Kayce Medlock earlier in the day.

Colorado, a member of the Big 12 Conference from 1996-2011, has since competed in the Pac-12.

The Buffaloes are coached by Mike MacIntyre, who has gone 10-27 in his three seasons in Boulder. Colorado is coming off a 4-9 campaign in 2015, and has not appeared in a bowl game since 2007 or had a winning season since 2005.

Tennison caught 27 passes in 11 games last season for 603 yards. Eight receptions went for touchdowns as Bullard finished with a record of 7-4, earning a trip to the bi-district round of the Class 4A Division II playoffs.

Bullard will compete in District 9-4A D-I in 2016, along with Carthage, Center, Chapel Hill, Henderson, Kilgore, and Palestine.

Tennison, like all football recruits currently in their junior year of high school, will become eligible to sign with any program that offers him in February, 2017.
