The first college offer has arrived for Elkhart running back Jeffery Wilson.

The 6-foot, 190-pounder received an offer from Louisiana-Monroe, according to Elkhart coach Sam Wells.

Wilson had a huge junior season. He finished fourth in East Texas in rushing yards with 2,329 and was tied for eighth with 26 rushing touchdowns. Wilson averaged 8.4 yards per carry.

Elkhart finished 2-8 in 2012, but faced six playoff teams. Wilson will again be the Elks' top offensive weapon in 2013.

Wilson was the third East Texan this week to receive a ULM offer.

The Warhawks offered two Carthage receivers -- 6-foot-2 Tee Goree and 6-foot-5 Okeeron Rutherford -- Monday, according to Carthage coach Scott Surratt. The ULM offers were the first for Goree and Rutherford, who combined for 109 catches for 1,860 yards and 26 touchdowns in 2012.
