EUSTACE -- Jesus Barcenas and Abed Abuhatab spearheaded a Eustace ground game that totaled 350 yards in Friday night's 47-6 rout of Grand Saline.

Barcenas ran 23 times for 152 yards and two touchdowns, while Abuhatab tallied 129 yards and two touchdowns on only 10 carries.

Eustace's Keenan Hargest had 11 carries for 53 yards, including a fourth-quarter 35-yard touchdown for the 41-point victory margin. Lance Rogers ran six times for 35 yards and a touchdown, a five-yarder in the third quarter for a 34-6 advantage.

Quarterback Brandon Morgan completed one of his two passes for a 34-yard touchdown to Forrest Lane, who gave the Bulldogs a 28-6 halftime lead.

Barcenas' two touchdowns came on a pair of five-yard first-quarter runs. Abuhatab's touchdowns covered 1 (second quarter) and 23 yards (third quarter). James East scored a two-point conversion following Eustace's opening score.

Eustace (4-5, 2-3) outgained Grand Saline 395-144, holding the Indians (0-8, 0-4) to 56 yards on 20 rushing attempts.

Grand Saline's Johnathan LaPrade completed 7 of 16 passes for 88 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. Lane Davis caught three passes for 44 yards, including a 28-yard touchdown for the Tribe's lone score, which momentarily cut Eustace's lead to 15-6 in the second quarter.

Brant Thayer led Grand Saline with 55 yards on eight carries. Eustace held the rest of Grand Saline's roster to one yard on 12 rushes.

Grand Saline hosts Lone Oak next week, while Eustace has the week off before the regular-season finale at Lone Oak.
