NEW CHAPEL HILL -- Senior Abilene Christian signee Lexi Kirgan has done some memorable things during her time at Bullard, but Friday's 55-48 win at Chapel Hill might just go down as the most significant.

Kirgan put up 42 points in the District 16-4A game to lead all scorers by 28 points.

The victory allowed the Lady Panthers (7-1 in league play) to retain a share of first place alongside Gilmer. If both teams win their final regular season games Tuesday, they will meet next weekend for a district championship game.

Chapel Hill (5-4) kept within striking distance throughout the game. Bullard held two-point leads at the end of the first and third quarters. The halftime score was 28-27 in favor of the Lady Panthers.

Kirgan kept going.

Daija Maddox and April Walker paced Chapel Hill with 14 points each.

Aside from Kirgan, Bullard had no scorers above six points.

The Lady Panthers will close the regular season at home against Kilgore.

Chapel Hill has already secured the district's third seed and now awaits its bi-district playoff assignment.

With the win, the Lady Cougars set a new schools record for wins in a season.

Grace finished the first half up 27-16. However, the home schooled Dallas Thunder squad roared back in the third quarter to make it a 33-28 deficit.

The Lady Cougars lost the lead in the fourth quarter, but reclaimed it with a minute to go. From there, both teams missed multiple shots from the field as well as the front end of one-and-one free throw attempts.
