CANTON -- The Gilmer Buckeyes ran their winning streak to 23 games with a 45-19 rout of Canton on Friday night in District 5-4A Division II action at Norris Birdwell Stadium.

Gilmer (7-0, 2-0) came away with three interceptions, and returned a fumble for a touchdown in the decisive victory.

Buckeyes quarterback Zac Spears passed for 230 yards and a touchdown, while running back Demarco Boyd ran for a score and caught another.

Both teams are back in action next Friday night. Canton (3-4, 1-1) travels to Melissa, while Gilmer plays host to Bullard (5-2, 2-0).
