HALLSVILLE -- Sulphur Springs' rough season continued Friday in a 49-3 loss at Hallsville in District 15-5A play.

Bobcats receiver Lance Hardeman scored three times in the first half from beyond 40 yards, and Hallsville (4-3, 2-2) owned a 42-0 lead at the break.

Hardeman opened scoring on a pair of 45-yard runs and also found the end zone as the recipient of a 59-yard screen pass from Roger McCuller.

Colton Schriver and Colton Olberthier also had big plays in the victory.

Schriver returned a blocked punt more than 50 yards for a touchdown. Olbertheir scored with a 34-yard pick-six.

McCuller added a touchdown of his own, a 19-yard run.

The victory allowed Hallsville to tie Mount Pleasant for the fourth-place spot in the district. The Bobcats will travel to Greenville this week.

Sulphur Springs will simultaneously try to find its first win of the season at home against Pine Tree.
