Center Stays On Top Of District 6-4A D-II With Victory Against Winless Tatum
CENTER -- The Roughriders are getting closer to a playoff spot after last year's disappointing campaign.
Friday's 42-7 win against Tatum helped Center keep pace with Atlanta for the District 6-4A Division II lead.
Senior running back Decorey McGee scored three times on runs of 32 yards, 2 yards and 1 yard to give the Roughriders (6-1, 2-0) enough on his own.
Cedric Barnes added a 57-yard touchdown run.
Quarterback Kyle Parks got into the action with a 19-yard pass to Jamorey Hall and Jadus Johnson returned an interception 73 yards to close the Roughriders' scoring.
With the loss, Tatum (0-7, 0-2) fell into a tie with Spring Hill for fifth place in the district standings. Those two teams will meet Friday.
Center will try to take the district league outright at Atlanta on Friday.
