With a strong junior season still going strong, Gilmer's Bran Webb has more to celebrate.

Webb (5-10, 175) reported via Twitter that he received his first Division I scholarship offer from Howard on Thursday night.

The Gilmer two-way standout projects as a cornerback in college. but has shined at running back this season for the Buckeyes.

Entering Friday night's Class 4A Division II regional semifinal against Melissa, Webb has rushed for 1,307 yards and 24 touchdowns. He's also added 264 yards and three touchdowns on 16 receptions.

Defensively, Webb has two interceptions, five passes defended, and one forced fumble for the Buckeyes (10-2).

Howard in an FCS program and member of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference. The Bison are coached by Mike London and finished 7-4 overall and 6-2 in MEAC play in 2017.

Webb and Gilmer look to keep their season going this week. Kickoff for Friday's game is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. from Mesquite Memorial Stadium.

Like all juniors, Webb will first be eligible to sign with any school that offers him a scholarship in December 2018.
