Gladewater Pulls Away From Sabine, 28-16

LIBERTY CITY -- The Gladewater Bears survived a late push from Sabine to earn a hard-fought 28-16 win in District 8-3A Division I action Friday night.

The win made next week's regular-season finale at home against Tatum for the district title.

Sabine (5-4, 2-3) was stopped on fourth-and-goal, trailing by five points, with less than five minutes to play. Then, Gladewater (8-1, 5-1) running back Eligia Carter ripped off a 96-yard touchdown run to put the game away.

The Cardinals finish the regular season at White Oak next Friday night.
